CAUTION: This renewal system is only recommended for light to light/medium skin tones as it uses a strong 4% hydroquinone solution for removing brown spots. Hydroquinone can cause the opposite effect on darker skin tones by making skin darker. Prepare Skin

Step 1 – Obagi Nu-Derm Gentle Cleanser (1) Use both AM/PM

A soap-free, non-foaming cleanser that cleans skin thoroughly and prepares skin for the next step.

Step 2 – Obagi Nu-Derm Toner (2) Use both AM/PM

Uses the natural astringent- alum, and adjusts your skin’s pH for maximum penetration of the treatment applications.

Improve Skin

Obagi Professional C Serums - this product is optional in the overall program but is recommended for use after your first 6 week exfoliation period.

These are vitamin C serums in strengths from 5% to 20%. Vitamin C effectively fights free radicals to protect skin from future damage and encourages collagen production.

Step 3 – Obagi Nu-Derm Clear (3) use both AM/PM

Contains 4% hydroquinone to improve uneven skin tone and lighten or erase brown spots.

Step 4 – Obagi Nu-Derm Exfoderm (4) use AM only

Contains phytic acid to exfoliate dead skin cells and open up the skin for deeper penetration of treatment ingredients.

Stimulate Skin Cell Renewal

Step 5 – Obagi Nu-Derm Blender (5) use PM only

Blender and applied together with Tretinoin cream (Retin-A) to promote skin cell turnover and renewal.

Tretinoin Cream (Retin-A) - .05% and .1% strengths -use PM only

Protect Skin from Sun

CAUTION: Whenever you use Tretinoin or any retinoid product, sun protection is ESSENTIAL! These products are making your skin very vulnerable to sun burn and more damage. Using adequate sun screen every day is a must. Do not use the Obagi system without using sun screen.

Step 6 - Obagi Nu-Derm Healthy Skin Protection SPF 35 (6) use AM only

Protects against the long UVA rays linked to premature skin aging – contains 9% micronized zinc oxide.

Provides superior UVA protection with less irritation in a chemical-free formula. – contains 18.5% micronized zinc oxide.

These are nice, full protection sunscreens that do not feel bad on your skin. Use at least SPF 30.
